2026 Texas Black Voter Survey

Hello, all I'm Chris Allen, better known as @smugchristophe on Threads. I am a Black content creator and small business owner right here in Texas.

I am conducting an informal survey of Black voters in Texas. Although Black voters are the most reliable Democratic voting bloc in the state, turnout remains disproportionately low relative to our share of the population.

THE CURRENT LANDSCAPE

According to 2024 exit polling, only 1.2 million (11% of total turnout) of the estimated 3 million eligible Black voters participated in the election—with noticeable declines in Harris and Dallas Counties. This means fewer than half of eligible Black voters participated in one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime.

Texas holds the largest Black population in the country. Yet, many of us feel disconnected from the political process. Whether driven by apathy, discouragement, or the feeling that a single vote won't make a difference, this is a major issue I am determined to explore.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The 2026 Texas Black Voter Survey is an independent endeavor organized by myself and a small group of dedicated volunteers.

IMPORTANT: This survey is NOT conducted in coordination with any political party—local, state, or national, any PAC, or any political campaign. I am a Black Texan reaching out directly to my community.

SURVEY DETAILS

The survey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You will be asked about:

(A) Basic demographics

(B) Voting history and future intent

(D) Your plans for the upcoming November general election

PARTICIPATION OPTIONS

You may choose how you wish to identify: (A) Completely anonymous (B) Initials only (C) First and/or last name (D) Opt-in for a recorded Zoom interview to be released publicly

RESULTS AND TRANSPARENCY

I am committed to transparency and the security of your information.

PUBLIC REPORT: The data collected will be used to compile a comprehensive report that will be released publicly via Substack and Blue Dot Nation. This will also be discussed on future podcast episodes and/or videos.

PERSONAL COPY: Upon submission, a copy of your individual responses will be automatically sent to the email address you provide for your records.

PRIVACY: If you choose to remain anonymous (Option A), no identifying personal information will be included in the public report.
